Product Overview
The TGEC quick coupler mounts between your excavator arm and attachment, cutting attachment changeover time dramatically. Also called a quick hitch, quick connect, pin grabber, or quick connector, it's built for construction, landscaping, demolition, and rental fleets where attachments get swapped constantly.
Four models span 4 to 30 ton excavators, with unit weights from 95 to 340 kg. Each model lists pin diameter, center distance, arm width, and equipping distance ranges to match common excavator specs. Choose hydraulic (cab-controlled), manual (lower-cost), or pin-grabber (multiple pin sizes). All feature heavy-duty bodies, hardened locking pins, reinforced latches, and safety locks. Hydraulic models have check valves that hold position if pressure drops. Custom brackets adapt to non-standard arm dimensions.

Hydraulic models require an auxiliary hydraulic pressure of 16–28 MPa (2320–4060 psi). Manual models use a lever or spring mechanism — no hydraulics required. Pin-grabber couplers handle a range of attachment pin diameters within the model spec.
How It Works
The coupler replaces the standard pin-on connection. Two receiver pockets grab the attachment pins, and a locking mechanism secures the rear pin. Hydraulic models use a cylinder to drive the lock; manual models use a lever. To change: position the coupler over the pins, seat the front pin, curl to set the rear pin, then engage the lock. A secondary safety lock prevents accidental release. Pin-grabber couplers use a wedge that clamps against the rear pin, accommodating different pin diameters. Check valves keep the lock engaged if circuit pressure drops.

General construction: Switch between digging buckets, grading buckets, breakers, augers in seconds — hydraulic changes keep the operator in the cab.
Landscaping and utility: Compact couplers for small/mid excavators swap narrow buckets, wide buckets, tampers, augers, rippers quickly. Manual couplers are a lower-cost option.
Demolition and recycling: Rapid switching between breakers, pulverizers, grapples, sorting buckets. Pin-grabber locks heavy attachments securely.

Installation & Mounting
Mounts directly to the excavator arm, replacing the bucket pin connection. Pull existing pins, position the coupler between arm plates, install mounting pins through the coupler and arm. Secure with retaining rings or bolts, grease all pin bores. For hydraulic models, connect locking cylinder hoses to the auxiliary circuit. Route hoses to avoid pinch points and allow full arm movement. Cycle the lock several times to verify operation. Custom brackets available for non-standard dimensions. Installation should be done by a qualified technician with proper torque and pressure testing. Check that added coupler weight doesn't exceed lift capacity with your heaviest attachment. Test lock engagement with each attachment before operation.
Wear & Service
Main wear items: locking pins, latch components, receiver pocket wear surfaces, hydraulic cylinder seals (hydraulic models). Grease locking pins and receiver pockets daily or every 8 hours with high-quality lithium-based grease. Inspect locking mechanism weekly for wear, damage, and proper engagement. Replace worn pins, wedges, or latches promptly. Check hydraulic cylinder for leaks, rod scoring, seal condition — replace seals at first sign of leakage. Test check valves periodically. Follow excavator manufacturer schedule for hydraulic fluid/filter changes. Inspect coupler body for cracks, deformation, weld integrity. Manual couplers need spring and lever mechanism checked for wear and tension. Use only TGEC OEM replacement parts.
