Product Overview
The TGEC stump puller is built for stump extraction rather than grinding or cutting. Dual hydraulic cylinders drive opposing jaws to clamp the stump, and the excavator's boom and arm lift force pulls it from the ground. The resulting hole can be backfilled or graded as part of site preparation. Two models cover the range: TG‑SP06 for 7–15 ton excavators with a 1500 mm jaw opening, and TG‑SP08 for 17–23 ton excavators with a 1700 mm jaw opening. Both use serrated jaws for grip and a solenoid valve for cab‑controlled jaw operation. Common applications include utility work, fence lines, land clearing, and site prep. Pulling Mechanism and Jaw Design
Two hydraulic cylinders drive opposing jaws inward to clamp the stump. Once gripped, the operator uses the boom and arm to lift vertically. Serrated jaw teeth provide additional grip on the stump during extraction. The 1500 mm and 1700 mm jaw openings provide a wide gripping range for stump and root-flare applications. Pivot points use hardened pins and bushings with grease fittings, and cylinder guards protect the rods from debris. The solenoid valve provides open/close control from the cab.

Application Matching by Size
Mid‑Size Excavators (7–15 t)
The TG‑SP06 with its 1500 mm jaw opening fits 7–15 ton machines. Suitable for utility trenches, fence lines, residential site prep, and smaller land clearing jobs. The solenoid valve provides cab-controlled jaw operation. Verify lift capacity at working reach, particularly on 7–8 ton machines at the lower end of the range.
Large Excavators (17–23 t)
The TG‑SP08 with a 1700 mm jaw opening is built for 17–23 ton excavators. Used for land clearing, highway right‑of‑ways, commercial development, and utility corridors. Verify lift capacity on 17–18 ton machines and maintain machine stability during extraction.
Operating Techniques
Position the excavator close to the stump with the boom directly over it for vertical lift. Clear dirt from the base to expose the root flare, then lower the open jaws around the stump and clamp below the flare. Apply steady upward force; if the stump resists, use controlled movement to help loosen the root system. Avoid jerking or overloading the machine. For large root systems, pre‑cutting surface roots with a stump shear can reduce the root mass before pulling. Keep the area clear of personnel during extraction.
Installation and Mounting
Each puller ships with a custom bracket matched to your excavator's pin spacing, diameter, and stick width. Provide make, model, pin dimensions, and hydraulic specs when ordering. Quick‑coupler versions are available. Install by pinning the bracket in place of the bucket, then connect the hydraulic hoses (pressure and return) and solenoid valve wiring. Route hoses and cables with slack and protect them from abrasion. Before use, set auxiliary pressure to the recommended range, grease pivot pins, and test solenoid valve operation.
Maintenance and Wear Parts
Inspect jaw teeth before each use and hardface or replace them when worn or rounded. Grease pivot pins every 8‑16 hours. Check cylinder rods for scoring, inspect hoses for wear, and examine the frame and jaws for cracks, especially around pivot mounts.
