Product Overview
Mounted on the excavator arm, TGEC tree spades use 4 or 6 curved steel blades that penetrate the soil and converge beneath the tree, forming a cone-shaped root mass. Hydraulic cylinders provide controlled force for clean root cuts, minimizing transplant shock. Four standard models suit nursery, landscaping, and municipal work. How It Works
Position spade over tree, then activate hydraulic cylinders to drive blades downward in a converging pattern, cutting through soil and roots to form a cone-shaped root ball. Once fully engaged, lift the tree with the excavator, transport to a prepared hole, lower, retract blades, and lift away. The process can be completed efficiently, depending on tree size and site conditions. Controlled penetration speed is key to clean cuts and minimal shock.
Wear & Service
Inspect blades regularly for wear, cracks, or dullness — replace as needed. Also check hydraulic cylinders, hoses, pivot pins, frame, and linkages. TGEC stocks replacement blades, seals, hoses, pins, bushings, and hardware. Grease pivot points daily in heavy use. Follow excavator hydraulic maintenance schedules.
