Product Overview
The TGEC skid steer auger attachment is a hydraulically driven drilling system that couples to the universal quick-attach plate on skid steers and compact track loaders. A hydraulic motor feeds power through a planetary gear reducer, multiplying torque to the auger bit for boring post holes, deck footings, and utility penetrations through soil, clay, and mixed ground. The attachment is suited to fencing, landscaping and agricultural applications requiring drilled holes in soil and mixed ground.
Seven bit and stem configurations share a single drive platform, ranging from a 144 kg configuration with a 150 mm single-stem bit to a 245 kg configuration with a 300/460 mm dual-stem bit and 8 mm flighting. All configurations are rated for 15 L/min hydraulic flow. Compatibility should be verified against the carrier's auxiliary hydraulic specifications and mounting interface. How It Works
The auger draws pressurized hydraulic fluid from the skid steer's auxiliary hydraulic circuit to spin the motor. That motor routes power through a planetary gear reducer, which drops output speed while increasing torque to the stem and bit. As the bit rotates, helical flights carry spoil up and out of the hole. The operator positions the auger using the loader arms and controls hydraulic motor operation through the auxiliary circuit.

Installation & Mounting
The auger attaches through a universal quick-attach plate. Compatibility should be confirmed based on the skid steer or compact track loader model and quick-attach interface. Two hydraulic hoses run from the motor to the skid steer's auxiliary couplers, with flow direction controlled from the operator's seat. To ensure a clean match, supply your skid steer make and model, auxiliary flow and pressure specs, and quick-attach interface type when placing an order. Mounting and hose configurations can be reviewed based on the carrier specifications provided with the order.
Wear & Service
Key wear points include auger bit teeth, helical flighting, drive stem bearings, hydraulic motor seals, and mounting frame pins. Check teeth often for wear—sharpen or swap them as needed. Keep an ear out for unusual noise from the motor or gear reducer, and inspect hoses for cuts, abrasion, or signs of leakage. Stay on top of grease schedules for mounting pins and bushings, and keep the quick-attach plate clear of debris. Replacement teeth, flighting, seals and hose kits are available according to model and configuration.
