Product Overview
A drum mulcher turns brush and small trees into a consistent, fine mulch, distributing the processed material over the work surface. The TG-SM series runs off a high-flow auxiliary circuit and mounts via universal quick-attach, making it a practical choice for land clearing, right-of-way maintenance, and vegetation maintenance in municipal areas. The heavy cylindrical rotor spins at high speed, with carbide teeth arranged in a helical pattern that shreds vegetation and discharges the processed material through the housing.
The series includes four models: the TG-SM40I with a 1000 mm (39.4 in) cutting width and 700 kg (1543 lb) weight, the TG-SM60I at 1550 mm (61.0 in) and 1000 kg (2205 lb), the TG-SM72I at 1850 mm (72.8 in) and 1100 kg (2425 lb), and the TG-SM84I at 2100 mm (82.7 in) and 1235 kg (2723 lb). Flow requirements range from 110 to 150 L/min (29 to 40 GPM), and tooth counts run from 25 to 56 depending on the model. How It Works
Hydraulic fluid from the skid steer's high-flow circuit drives a motor that spins the drum rotor. As the rotor turns, carbide teeth arranged in a helical pattern strike and shred vegetation against the housing, discharging fine mulch through the bottom and rear. The operator controls drum speed through the auxiliary flow and positions the mulcher with the skid steer's boom and tilt functions.

Installation & Mounting
The forestry mulcher connects to the skid steer via the universal quick-attach plate. Align the receiver, lock the levers, and connect the high-flow auxiliary hoses. Before operation, confirm the auxiliary circuit delivers the required flow for your model — 110 to 140 L/min (29 to 37 GPM) for the TG-SM40I and TG-SM60I, or 120 to 150 L/min (32 to 40 GPM) for the TG-SM72I and TG-SM84I — and verify that the carrier's rated operating capacity can handle the attachment weight, which ranges from 700 to 1235 kg (1543 to 2723 lb). Cycle the motor briefly to purge air and check for even rotation and leaks.
Inspection & Maintenance
The main components that require periodic inspection include the carbide teeth, the drum rotor, the hydraulic motor, bearings, hydraulic hoses, and quick-attach coupling components. Inspect teeth before each shift for wear, cracking, or missing carbide — replace individual teeth as needed. Check the drum rotor for cracks, warping, or elongated tooth mounting holes after impact with rocks or debris. Listen for unusual noise from the motor or bearings, and inspect hoses for abrasion or leaks. Grease all pivot and bearing points per the maintenance schedule. Genuine replacement parts are available for all models.
