Product Overview

Built for urban demolition, interior work and noise-sensitive sites, the silenced box-type breaker wraps the power cell in sound-dampening material, reducing noise by 5–10 dB versus open-body units while protecting internals from dust and debris. Nitrogen gas-assisted with accumulator and valve integrated inside the enclosure. Part of the TGEC excavator hydraulic breakers lineup.

22 models cover 0.5–160 ton carriers, weighing 86–5580 kg with tool diameters 40–255 mm. Impact rates 70–1400 bpm, operating pressure 90–270 bar, oil flow 15–580 L/min. For comparison, the side-type breaker has a compact open frame, while the top-type open-body breaker offers maximum heat dissipation for quarry work.

Silenced Enclosure Design

The breaker runs on a nitrogen gas-assisted hydraulic impact system, fully enclosed in a sound-dampening box housing. Hydraulic pressure drives the piston down; nitrogen in the accumulator stores energy during the power stroke and assists return. Multiple sound-dampening layers and rubber isolation mounts absorb vibration and cut noise transmission. The enclosed design also protects internals from dust, debris and water.

Key benefits: reduced noise allows work in residential and commercial areas where open-body breakers would violate noise ordinances; the housing protects components and contains grease and hydraulic fluid for cleaner work areas. Trade-off: the enclosed housing dissipates heat less efficiently than open-body designs, so monitor hydraulic cooling during extended runs, and service access requires removing housing panels.

Hydraulic Requirements and Carrier Matching

Flow: 15–580 L/min. Pressure: 90–270 bar. Aux circuit needs relief valve (set to max pressure), shut-off valve and rated hoses. Case drain recommended for larger models. Check nitrogen charge periodically. Enclosed housing runs hotter than open-body designs – verify excavator cooling capacity for extended use, especially in hot weather.

Select model by carrier weight range, auxiliary flow/pressure and lift capacity at working reach. Mounting brackets are custom-built per excavator make/model. Quick coupler compatible. When ordering, provide: make, model, weight, flow, pressure, pin spacing, pin diameter, stick width and coupler type if used.

Maintenance

Daily: grease tool bushing every 2–4 hours; inspect working tool and retaining pins for wear; check nitrogen charge. Weekly: inspect front head bushing (replace if clearance exceeds limit); check hydraulic hoses and through-bolt torque. Periodically remove housing panels to inspect internals, clear debris and check sound-dampening material and isolation mounts.

Full service – seals, piston, valve, accumulator, bushings – every 500–1000 hours depending on duty. TGEC stocks full spare parts for all silenced box-type models: seal kits, pistons, front heads, valve assemblies, accumulators, through-bolts, bushings, retaining pins, hoses and housing components. Accepts all four standard hydraulic breaker chisel types: moil point, blunt tool, flat wedge and conical point, 40–255 mm diameters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a silenced box-type hydraulic breaker?+

A demolition attachment using a nitrogen-assisted hydraulic system to break concrete, rock and hard materials, with the power cell enclosed in a sound-dampening housing that reduces noise by 5–10 dB and protects internals from dust and debris. TGEC offers 22 models for 0.5–160 ton excavators with tool diameters 40–255 mm, suited for urban demolition, interior work and noise-sensitive applications.

How much noise reduction does a silenced breaker provide?+

Typically 5–10 dB versus an equivalent open-body breaker, depending on model, conditions and measurement method. The reduction comes from multiple sound-dampening layers, rubber isolation mounts and the enclosed structure. A 10 dB reduction is perceived as roughly half as loud. This often allows work in residential and commercial areas where open-body breakers would violate noise ordinances. Actual levels depend on breaker model, excavator, material and conditions.

What applications are suitable for the silenced box-type breaker?+

Urban building demolition in residential/commercial areas, interior demolition inside buildings, demolition near hospitals, schools and noise-sensitive facilities, and road/bridge repair in city centers and residential neighborhoods. The enclosed housing also protects internals and reduces work area contamination. For quarry production and heavy demolition where maximum heat dissipation and service access are priorities, an open-body breaker may be more appropriate.

What excavator sizes are compatible with the silenced box-type breaker?+

0.5–160 tons across 22 models with overlapping carrier ranges. Compact models (TG-B40, TG-B45, TG-B53) fit 0.5–3.5 ton mini excavators for light interior and urban demolition. Mid-size (TG-B68 to TG-B140) fit 3–24 ton excavators for general urban demolition and road repair. Large (TG-B150 to TG-B255) fit 24–160 ton excavators for heavy urban demolition and infrastructure work. Auxiliary flow must match 15–580 L/min per model. Provide your excavator specs and our team can confirm the correct model.

How does the silenced box-type differ from side-type and open-body breakers?+

All three use the same nitrogen-assisted hydraulic principle but differ in housing and target use. The side-type breaker mounts the accumulator and valve on the side in a compact open frame – narrow profile, easy maintenance, no noise reduction. The top-type open-body breaker mounts the accumulator on top with exposed power cell – maximum heat dissipation and service access, no noise reduction. The silenced box-type encloses the power cell in a sound-dampening housing, reducing noise by 5–10 dB and protecting components, ideal for urban work. Trade-off: reduced heat dissipation and more involved service access.

What maintenance does the silenced box-type breaker require?+

Daily: grease the tool bushing every 2–4 hours, inspect the working tool and retaining pins for wear, and check the nitrogen charge. Weekly: inspect the front head bushing (replace when clearance exceeds the limit), check hydraulic hoses for leaks and through-bolts for torque. Periodically remove housing panels to inspect internals, clean debris and verify sound-dampening material and isolation mounts. Full service (seals, piston, valve, accumulator, bushings) every 500–1000 hours. TGEC supplies a full range of spare parts for all models.

What chisel types are available for the silenced box-type breaker?+

All four standard types: moil point (general-purpose for concrete and rock), blunt tool (secondary crushing of oversized boulders and slag), flat wedge (asphalt cutting and slab work), and conical point (penetrative breaking in medium-hard materials). Available in tool diameters 40–255 mm to match each model. For urban demolition, moil point and flat wedge are the most commonly used.

Can TGEC provide custom mounting brackets for the silenced box-type breaker?+

Yes. Every breaker can be supplied with a custom mounting bracket engineered for your specific excavator make, model and pin dimensions. We maintain bracket data for all major brands including Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, JCB, Kobelco, Doosan, Hyundai, Kubota, Yanmar, Takeuchi, Bobcat and others. Both mechanical and hydraulic quick coupler compatibility is available. When ordering, provide excavator make/model, weight, pin spacing, pin diameter, stick width and coupler type.

Does TGEC offer OEM and private-label supply for the silenced box-type breaker?+

Yes. Comprehensive OEM and private-label programs with custom branding, color scheme, packaging and operator documentation, flexible MOQs and competitive volume pricing. Also bulk supply pricing for dealer inventory, dedicated account management, marketing support and priority production scheduling. All OEM and bulk-order units undergo the same QC and testing as TGEC-branded breakers. Genuine replacement parts and chisels also available in bulk for dealer service departments.

What hydraulic requirements does the silenced box-type breaker need?+

Auxiliary flow ranges from 15–30 L/min (TG-B40) to 430–580 L/min (TG-B255), with operating pressure 90–270 bar depending on model. The aux circuit should include a properly sized relief valve set to manufacturer-recommended max pressure, a shut-off valve and hoses rated for max operating pressure. Case drain recommended for larger models to protect the valve assembly and seals from back pressure. Because the enclosed housing reduces heat dissipation, ensure the excavator hydraulic cooling system has sufficient capacity for the breaker load, especially for extended operation in high temperatures.
