Product Overview
The V‑Series gas‑free breaker is built for large excavators in the most demanding jobs – heavy industrial demolition, quarry production, mining site prep, and major infrastructure rock excavation. Like all TGEC gas‑free breakers, it runs on a fully‑hydraulic system with no nitrogen gas chamber – no gas charging, no pressure checks, no gas seal maintenance. For big breakers running at high impact energies and long duty cycles, that's a real advantage because gas leakage and pressure drift are common issues in traditional large breakers that can degrade performance. Part of the TGEC excavator gas‑free hydraulic breakers lineup.
Six models cover carriers from 18 to 120 tons, with operating weights from 1500 to 7000 kg and tool diameters from 122 to 214 mm. Impact rates range from 290 to 1160 bpm depending on the model, with pressures from 135 to 180 bar and oil flow from 120 to 550 L/min – matching the high‑flow aux circuits on big demolition and quarry machines. The V‑Series is designed for heavy demolition contractors, quarry operators, and mining companies that run breakers hard in harsh conditions. The combination of max impact energy, consistent gas‑free performance, and simplified maintenance supports high‑production breaking in demanding applications. For comparison, the M‑Series covers mid‑size carriers, and the R‑Series handles compact to mid‑size machines.
Heavy-Duty Fully-Hydraulic Design
The V‑Series is built around a heavy‑duty fully‑hydraulic impact system engineered for the high forces and continuous running of large demolition, quarry, and mining work. The power cell uses a large‑diameter piston and cylinder that deliver max impact energy with smooth, controlled operation. The precision hydraulic valve alternates high‑pressure oil between the upper and lower piston chambers, driving both strokes with hydraulic force alone – no nitrogen gas assist, no gas chamber, no charge valve, no gas seals, and no gas‑related maintenance.
Several heavy‑duty features set the V‑Series apart from the smaller R‑Series and M‑Series. The housing is fabricated from thicker, higher‑strength steel plate with reinforced mounting ears, through‑bolt connections, and cross‑bracing that absorb and distribute high impact forces. The front head assembly is beefed up with heavier bushings and wear components to handle the larger tool diameters and higher impact forces, with replaceable wear parts that can be serviced in the field without major disassembly. Rubber isolation mounts between the power cell and housing reduce vibration to the excavator, improving operator comfort during extended runs and extending boom and stick life by minimizing high‑frequency vibration.

Application Scenarios
Heavy industrial demolition: Break large concrete structures, bridge components, industrial plant foundations, and heavily reinforced concrete that smaller breakers can't handle.
Quarry production and mining: Primary and secondary rock breaking, overburden removal, boulder reduction, and production breaking in hard rock – granite, basalt, and the like.
Major infrastructure rock excavation: Highway construction, railway rock cuts, dam construction, tunnel portal excavation, and large‑scale site development.
High‑altitude and extreme‑temperature work: The fully‑hydraulic design delivers consistent performance regardless of altitude or temperature swings that can throw off traditional gas‑assist breakers.
Hydraulic Requirements and Carrier Matching
Proper hydraulic setup is key to V‑Series performance and longevity. Each model has specific flow requirements from 120 to 550 L/min, with max operating pressure from 135 to 180 bar. The auxiliary circuit needs a properly sized relief valve set to the recommended max pressure, a shut‑off valve to isolate the breaker, and large‑diameter hoses rated for the max operating pressure. A case drain is required for all V‑Series models to protect the valve assembly and seals from back pressure, especially on high‑flow models running continuous heavy cycles. The excavator's hydraulic cooling system needs enough capacity for the additional high‑flow breaker load, particularly in hot ambient conditions typical of quarry and mining sites.
When picking a V‑Series model, verify that your excavator's operating weight falls within the model's carrier range, that your auxiliary flow is within the specified range, and that the circuit can deliver the required pressure. Check the breaker weight against your lift capacity at working reach – especially for the 3500‑7000 kg models. Mounting brackets are custom‑engineered for each large excavator make and model, with heavy‑duty construction to handle V‑Series impact forces. Quick coupler compatibility is available for both mechanical and hydraulic systems. When ordering, provide the excavator make and model, operating weight, auxiliary flow and pressure, pin‑to‑pin spacing, pin diameter, stick width, and coupler type if applicable.
Maintenance for Heavy-Duty Operation
The V‑Series gas‑free breaker is simpler to maintain than traditional nitrogen‑charged large breakers because the gas system is gone – no gas chamber, no charging, no gas seals. Daily maintenance: grease the tool bushing every two to four hours of run time with high‑quality breaker grease. Inspect the working tool and retaining pins daily for wear, mushrooming, cracks, or deformation – especially on those large 150‑214 mm tools used in quarry and mining. Check front head bushing weekly and replace it when clearance exceeds the limit. Inspect hydraulic hoses periodically for leaks, cracks, abrasion, or bad routing. Check through‑bolt torque periodically and retorque if needed.
Full service – complete seal replacement, piston inspection and measurement, valve overhaul, and bushing replacement – is recommended every 500‑1000 hours depending on how hard you're running it. More frequent service for highly abrasive rock, heavy duty cycles, or extreme environments. Any qualified hydraulic tech can do this service without specialized breaker knowledge or nitrogen charging gear. TGEC stocks a full range of hydraulic breaker spare parts for all V‑Series models – seal kits, pistons, front heads, valve assemblies, through‑bolts, bushings, retaining pins, and hoses. The V‑Series accepts all four standard hydraulic breaker chisel types: moil point for general demolition and rock, blunt tool for secondary crushing, flat wedge for asphalt and slab work, and conical point for penetrative breaking in medium‑hard materials.
